For those pesky sweat stains that tend to appear beneath the arms and on the collar, try this lemon and salt remedy.

Add two liters of boiling water, sixty milliliters of washing powder, three tablespoons of salt, and the juice of three lemons. Take the pot from the stove and stir in the other ingredients.

After soaking for 40 minutes, wash the garments in cold water and air dry them in the sun.

Another great substance for removing certain stains and lightening clothing is hydrogen peroxide.

Combine two liters of water with 60 milliliters of laundry soap and 60 milliliters of hydrogen peroxide. Allow the clothing to soak in the solution for half an hour before rinsing.

A thick combination of baking soda and lemon may be made to remove tough stains. Laundry whiteners may also be made using this solution.

Before rubbing in half a lemon, sprinkle a spoonful of baking soda on the discoloration. Apply and let sit for 15 minutes before rinsing off with hot water.
