Breton Apple Fritters

Ingredients:

For the donut dough:
250g flour
50g sugar
1 sachet baking powder
1 pinch salt
2 eggs
200ml milk
30g butter (melted)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the apples:

3 apples (such as Granny Smith or Golden)
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

For frying:
Frying oil (enough to dip the zeppole)

For the icing sugar (to sprinkle):
Icing sugar (to taste)
