Over time, glass lenses acquire a dull tint or whitish spots due to limescale present in the water. The first option is to throw them away, stop using them, or throw them away, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Before buying new glasses, try removing the white patina and restoring them to their original shine with the economical and ecological methods that we offer below.

Although the presence of limescale in the water we use to wash glasses is the main cause of the formation of this white patina, there are other factors that can cause it, such as improper use of the dishwasher or excessive use of dishwashing detergent.

1. Salt and lemon
Rub the inside of the glass with half a lemon. Apply a little force, but be careful not to break the glass. Little by little, the lemon will eliminate the limescale present inside the glass.

Immediately afterwards, put a pinch of salt in the glass and sprinkle it over the entire interior surface. Rub again with the lemon to make sure all the limescale comes off. When finished, wash the glass with dish soap and water and dry well.
