Chicken Parmesan grilled cheese sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of your favorite bread (e.g., sourdough, Italian, or white bread)
  • 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast (cooked and sliced thinly)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for grilling)
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (plus extra for dipping)
  • 2 oz fresh mozzarella cheese (sliced or shredded)
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil (chopped, optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for added flavor)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Step 1: Cook the Chicken

If you don’t have leftover cooked chicken:

  1. Season the chicken breast with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.
