Creamy Garlic Parmesan Salmon with Turmeric Rice is a flavorful and easy-to-make dish that combines the richness of salmon with a creamy garlic Parmesan sauce and vibrant, aromatic turmeric rice. Here’s a recipe to make this dish from scratch:

Ingredients:

For the Salmon:

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)

For the Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter option)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

For the Turmeric Rice:

  • 1 cup basmati rice (or your preferred rice)
  • 2 cups water or chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground cumin (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Turmeric Rice:

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a medium saucepan, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil or butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the rinsed rice to the pan and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, allowing the rice to lightly toast.
  4. Add the 2 cups of water (or chicken broth for extra flavor), turmeric, cumin (if using), and salt. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pan.
  6. Simmer for 15-18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat and fluff the rice with a fork. Set aside.

2. Cook the Salmon:

  1. Season the salmon fillets with salt, pepper, and a drizzle of lemon juice (optional).
  2. Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the salmon fillets to the pan, skin-side down if applicable. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until the salmon is golden brown on the outside and cooked through in the center (the internal temperature should reach 145°F or 63°C).
  4. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside. Tent with foil to keep warm.
