Ingredients
2 slices of bread (white, wheat, or sourdough)
2-3 slices of cheese (American, cheddar, or your favorite melting cheese)
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
Directions
Step 1: Prepare the Bread
Cut the crusts off both slices of bread using a sharp knife.
Step 2: Assemble the Sandwich
Place cheese slices between the crustless slices of bread. Press gently to seal the edges slightly.
Step 3: Butter the Bread
Spread softened butter evenly on both sides of the assembled sandwich.
Step 4: Cook the Sandwich
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Use a spatula to press gently while cooking for even browning.
Step 5: Serve
Remove from the skillet and let cool slightly. Cut into halves or quarters for easy snacking and serve warm.
