Fluffy Condensed Milk Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup regular milk (whole or 2%)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for brushing, optional)

Instructions:

1. Activate the Yeast:

  • In a small bowl, combine the warm water and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and stir to dissolve. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes foamy and bubbly.

2. Mix the Dough:

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, the remaining sugar, and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture, condensed milk, regular milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract (if using). Mix everything together until a sticky dough forms.

3. Knead the Dough:

  • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 8-10 minutes, or until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. You can also use a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment to knead the dough on medium speed for 6-7 minutes.

4. First Rise:

  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.

5. Shape the Dough:

  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and divide it into 2 equal portions (for two loaves) or keep it as one large loaf.
  • Shape the dough portions into smooth, tight balls or loaf shapes. If making a large loaf, place the shaped dough into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.

6. Second Rise:
