- Prep the Steaks:
- Season the steak medallions generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Cook the Steaks:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the steak medallions and sear them for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. (For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of about 130°F.)
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and set them aside to rest while you make the glaze.
- Make the Honey Garlic Glaze:
- In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and balsamic vinegar (if using). Stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the glaze thickens slightly.
- If you like a bit of heat, add the crushed red pepper flakes.
- Glaze the Steaks:
- Return the cooked steak medallions to the skillet and spoon the glaze over them.
- Let them simmer in the sauce for 2-3 more minutes, allowing the glaze to coat the steaks.
- Serve:
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and place them on plates.
- Spoon any remaining glaze from the skillet over the top of the steaks.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or chives for a fresh pop of color.
Tips:
- You can substitute the steak medallions with any tender cut of steak like filet mignon, sirloin, or ribeye.
- For extra flavor, consider marinating the steaks for 30 minutes before cooking them.
- Serve the honey garlic glazed steak medallions with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
Enjoy your savory-sweet, melt-in-your-mouth honey garlic glazed steak medallions!
