If the holes are near your stomach, your belt buckle may be the culprit. Going beltless is an obvious solution to this problem, but it’s not always possible. You can also try adjusting the position of the belt, or even smoothing out any rough or potentially sharp edges with sandpaper.

Another thing you may not have thought about is the act of washing your clothes, at least in terms of the amount of laundry you’re trying to do at any given time. Apparently, overloading the washing machine can cause holes in your clothes, and you should always be sure to turn items with beads, buttons, or other embellishments inside out.
Finally—and yes, this is going to sound terribly obvious—be careful of rough surfaces like brick and stone, as well as objects that might protrude from those surfaces, like nails.
