Removing mould from walls is not just an aesthetic issue. A myriad of health problems are associated with mould in our homes, from respiratory problems to allergic reactions and depression.
For this reason, there is no alternative to mould removal and below we explain how you can do this without having to resort to chemicals, which in turn are toxic and can damage health.
Remove mould from walls with vinegar.
Vinegar has antibacterial properties that can be very helpful against mould. Fill a spray bottle with undiluted white vinegar and spray it on the mouldy surfaces.
Leave it for a few minutes and then wipe it off with a clean cloth. You can repeat this several times until the mould has completely disappeared.
Tea tree oil
This oil is very effective against mould and although it is more expensive than vinegar, it has slightly stronger properties and can be helpful for deeper mould stains.
Tea tree oil has antibacterial, antiviral and antiseptic properties. Add a teaspoon of tea tree oil to half a litre of water, mix well and spray directly onto the mould. Then clean it with a clean sponge or cloth.
Use vodka against mould.
As strange or bizarre as it may sound, this vodka home remedy can be the ultimate solution to mould on walls.
