Baked Cheese and Bacon Egg Cups are a delicious, savory breakfast or brunch option that’s easy to make and packed with flavor. These individual egg cups are made with crispy bacon, melted cheese, and perfectly baked eggs, all in a convenient cup form. Here’s a simple recipe for you to try:
Ingredients:
- 6 large eggs
- 6 slices bacon
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a cheese blend)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional, for a creamier texture)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh herbs (such as chives, parsley, or thyme), for garnish (optional)
- Cooking spray (for greasing the muffin tin)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or lightly oil each cup to prevent sticking.
2. Cook the bacon:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Once cooled, crumble or chop the bacon into small pieces.
3. Prepare the muffin tin:
Line each muffin cup with a slice of bacon. You can either form the bacon around the edges to create a “cup” or just lay it flat on the bottom. If needed, cut the bacon slices to fit the muffin tin.
4. Add cheese:
Sprinkle a little shredded cheese over the bacon in each cup.
5. Crack the eggs:
Carefully crack one egg into each muffin cup over the bacon and cheese. Be cautious not to break the yolk, unless you prefer scrambled eggs.
6. Add cream (optional):
For a creamier texture, drizzle a little bit of heavy cream over each egg. You can also skip this step if you prefer the eggs to be firmer.
7. Season:
