Here’s a delicious recipe for Cheesy Sausage Puff Pastry Rolls—a savory, cheesy snack wrapped in golden, flaky puff pastry. These rolls are perfect for parties, appetizers, or just a tasty treat to enjoy at any time!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (17.3 oz) puff pastry sheets (usually 2 sheets per package, thawed if frozen)
  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (or any sausage of your choice)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of your favorite cheeses like mozzarella or Monterey Jack)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the sausage filling:

  • In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat, breaking it up into small crumbles as it cooks. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, until the sausage is browned and fully cooked.
  • Once the sausage is cooked, drain any excess fat if needed. Remove the skillet from the heat.
  • Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the sausage mixture.
  • Let the sausage mixture cool for a few minutes, then mix in the shredded cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan (if using). Set aside.

2. Prepare the puff pastry:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • On a clean surface, roll out the puff pastry sheets. If they’re not already the right size, roll them out gently with a rolling pin to smooth the creases.
  • Cut each sheet of puff pastry into even rectangles (about 3-4 inches wide, depending on the size you prefer for your rolls).

3. Assemble the rolls:

  • Spoon a generous amount of the sausage and cheese mixture onto the center of each puff pastry rectangle.
  • Roll the pastry over the filling to form a log or cylinder, sealing the edges by pressing lightly. Make sure the filling is fully enclosed.
  • Repeat with the remaining pastry sheets and filling.

4. Prepare the egg wash:
