Ingredients:
- 1 package (17.3 oz) puff pastry sheets (usually 2 sheets per package, thawed if frozen)
- 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (or any sausage of your choice)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of your favorite cheeses like mozzarella or Monterey Jack)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the sausage filling:
- In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat, breaking it up into small crumbles as it cooks. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, until the sausage is browned and fully cooked.
- Once the sausage is cooked, drain any excess fat if needed. Remove the skillet from the heat.
- Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the sausage mixture.
- Let the sausage mixture cool for a few minutes, then mix in the shredded cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan (if using). Set aside.
2. Prepare the puff pastry:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
